FirstHealth Employee Assistance Program to Offer Parenting Workshop
PINEHURST – Most parents would probably agree that raising a child can be overwhelming and often times frustrating. Since no child comes with detailed instructions, parents can become overwhelmed by the various behaviors of children and teens.
The FirstHealth of the Carolinas Employee Assistance Program is offering a workshop that focuses on a parenting approach that demonstrates active parenting without the struggle.
The workshop, titled “Parenting with Love and Logic,” is a nationally recognized training program that teaches parents and those who work with children to set limits and apply consequences, share control, communicate without anger and reduce stress.
“The ‘Parenting with Love and Logic’ approach is designed to help parents and teachers through easy-to-use techniques,” says Casey Powers, a counselor with the FirstHealth Employee Assistance Program. “We are excited about the benefits that this program will provide to the parents and teachers in our community.”
FirstCarolinaCare Insurance Company and the FirstHealth Employee Assistance Program are collaborating to offer this workshop at a significant discount for participants.
The two-day workshop is $10 per person. The first day of training will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17. The second and final day of training will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Classes will be held in Conference Room A at the FirstHealth Conference Center on the campus of Moore Regional Hospital.
Anyone interested in attending the two-day workshop can call (910) 715-3444 to pre-register. By registering in advance, participants will receive a free workbook to use during the training
